Join New Canaan Library in welcoming film historian and author Max Alvarez, offering a powerful journey through 84 years of Hollywood films and TV shows about U.S. presidents. Alvarez will speak on Tuesday, January 23 at 6:30 p.m. in the Adrian Lamb Room. Please register online at newcanaanlibrary.org.

Film historian, author, and speaker Max Alvarez has been examining film and society through a microscope for decades. His talk will feature discussions of such political favorites as House of Cards, VEEP, The American President and Seven Days in May.

Alvarez's  cinema talks are rich in historical and cultural information and bolstered with humor and witty anecdotes about motion pictures and their colorful creators. He is the author of numerous published articles and has presented lectures at prestigious academic institutions and libraries including Columbia University School of the Arts and New York University.
