Get on Board with the 2014 Candlewood Lake Clean Up!

This is a great opportunity for you, your friends and your family, to participate in a great Candlewood Lake event. With the amount of ice we had on the lake, which lasted into the spring when water levels had already risen, there have been reports of a lot of debris in the water (see warning below). This debris will likely litter the shoreline when our hundreds of volunteers head out in May to clean Candlewood's shoreline.

With no shortage of anticipated trash and debris, we are counting on area residents to ensure we don't have a shortage of volunteers or boats with boat captains to make our shorelines sparkle prior to the boating season.

How does it work?

1) Register online - either as a boat captain or a volunteer clean up crew member.

2) Arrive at your chosen departure point (one of the 5 town parks) at 8:30 AM.

3) Your boat captain will take you and the others in the boat to designated areas to pick up debris on the shoreline that morning.

4) Your boat captain will then bring you all to NF Town Park for a delicious lunch, compliments of some of the best area restaurants - where you will also get your official 2014 Clean Up t-shirt and a Summer 2014 Candlewood Lake magnet.

5) Your boat captain will bring you back to you departure point after the lunch.

Boat Captains with boats are especially critical to the success of this event! We can only accept as many volunteer clean up crew members as we have room for on the boats. If you or someone you know would like to be a boat captain, please have them register. Interested boat captains can contact Larry here at the CLA as well with any questions (860-354-6928).
