The Friends of Harrybrooke Park in New Milford are celebrating the park’s 50th anniversary by hosting a fundraising dinner and comedy night starring New Milford’s own home-town comedian Joe DeVito, plus comedian Mike Speirs and local Billy “Mo” Buckbee as the emcee.
The Friends of Harrybrooke Park is a non-profit volunteer organization committed to the preservation of the park’s natural beauty and upkeep of the park’s facilities and the Harden House museum. Harrybrooke Park is open to the public at no charge from sunrise to sunset year round. The spacious 41 acre private park was given to the people of New Milford in 1965 by the late Frank Harden. Endowed by a trust fund, it is governed by a Board of Managers and receives no funding from the Town of New Milford. Harrybrooke Park features the Harden House Museum, two event pavilions, a duck pond, nature trails, wetlands, a walking/bicycling loop and scenic views of the Still River.
