March Book Sale and the Friends of the Library Annual Meeting

March Book Sale a Success Despite Weather Challenges

Book donations were slow for the first week of collecting, but they picked up toward sale days maybe because everyone started their spring cleaning early because they were snow bound.

Several new categories*** were added in the Children’s section and we had so many hard cover Mystery Book donations we had to put them in 2 locations! As usual, we carefully selected books that are current and in good condition. Our prices have changed slightly, (lower!)

***(See full list of categories below.)

The special preview hour on Saturday, March 21st, 9:00-10:00am had customers lining up at 8:00am in the snow so we let them into the library to keep warm. In order to serve our audience who work during the day, on Monday, March 23rd (all books free!), the Community Room remained open until the Library closed at 8:00pm.

Our next book sale is scheduled for September but we asubject to the needs of the upcoming upgrading to ADA compliance of the Library so look for more news as the schedule is approved and unfolds.

Friends Annual Meeting

On Saturday April 11th the Friends of the New Fairfield Library will host our annual meeting. At 9:30 am while enjoying coffee, tea, orange juice and assorted muffins, bagels etc. we will be electing officers, talking about where we’ve been and what our future plans are. Members of the Library Board will be available to talk about the progress of the renovations and answer any questions. All are welcome, you don’t need to be a member to attend, (although you can sign up when you are there!)

The Friends of the New Fairfield Free public Library: We are a group, members of the state organization- Friends of  Connecticut Libraries (FOCL), who donate time and individual expertise because we believe that libraries are an essential resource for the residents  of our town. As Friends of The New Fairfield Free Public Library we welcome any new members or visitors, membership application folders are available in the Library.
