Join Milan Bull, The Connecticut Audubon Society’s senior director of science and conservation, and Cathy Hagadorn, Director of Deer Pond Farm, for an evening guided bird walk and owl exploration at Connecticut Audubon’s newest sanctuary in Sherman tonight, Tuesday, August 8.
The two-mile walk is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunset in the summer is a great time to see and hear the residents of the forest. Bring binoculars, bug spray and a flash light.
All levels of birders welcome. Please wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. Walks are cancelled if there is rain.
Can’t make the evening walk? If you’re not a night owl, there’s a guided early morning bird walk on Thursday, Aug. 10 at 8 a.m.
Deer Pond Farm is located at 57 Wakeman Hill Road, Sherman, Conn. Walkers will meet in the parking area near the flagpole and birdfeeders. Learn more about the Deer Pond Farm sanctuary at www.ctaudubon.org/deer-pond-farm.
