In Memory of Betty Joy (Nelson) Andreasen

Betty Joy (Nelson) Andreasen, age 77, of New Fairfield, CT, passed away Friday, February 28, 2014 at Danbury Hospital with her family by her side. She was the widow of Robert K. Andreasen, Sr. Born January 3, 1937, in Danbury, CT. Betty is the daughter of the late Gustave and Elsie Viola (Whistrand) Nelson.

Betty enjoyed life to the fullest. She is known to many for her long tenure at Deeps grocery store as a hardworking employee who always had a smile on her face and lit up a room. Betty believed her greatest legacy were her son's Robert K. Andreasen, Jr. and William M. Andreasen, along with and her granddaughters Melissa, Ashley and Nicole. Betty was a proud loving grandmother who was an ever present spectator at all of her beloved granddaughter's sporting events. She was a devoted fan of UConn girls' basketball, an avid bowler and loved her monthly dinners with longtime friends.

Betty is survived by her sons: Robert and William, and his wife Suzanne all of New Fairfield; a brother: Richard W. Nelson of Danbury; and three granddaughters: Melissa, Ashley & Nicole. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by brothers: Walter and Robert Nelson.

A graveside service will be held at Mountainview Cemetery, New Fairfield, CT, Wednesday at 11:30 AM. The family will receive friends at the Hull Funeral Home, 60 Division St., Danbury, Wednesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 at which time a short service will be held, before processing to the cemetery.
