Snow Could Impact Monday Morning Commute

Winter weather in the forecast from NOAA for Sunday afternoon, December 11 into Monday, December 12

  •   Light snow to develop late this afternoon into this evening with a dusting/light coating of snow.

  •   Across interior NE NJ, Lower Hudson Valley, and interior southern CT the snow becomes steadier and heavier tonight with a plowable snowfall likely. This will impact the Monday morning rush hour.

  • Across the NYC/NJ Metro and Coast, snow mixes with and then changes to rain late tonight. A light coating of snow is forecast tonight before the changeover to plain rain.

    • Snow should change to rain from south to north Monday Morning.
    • A brief period of freezing rain with a glaze of ice is forecast early Monday morning across some areas well NW of the NYC Metro.
A warmer system will result in snow changing to rain quicker from south to north tonight into early Monday morning with lower snow totals.

  •   A colder system will bring the potential for a bit higher snow totals than currently forecast, including locations near the coast.

  •
