Mercedes-Benz Winner Announced Last Night at The Ridgefield Playhouse

Had it not been for the persuasive nudge of Ridgefield teen and Kent School student, Max Scanlon, South Salem resident Patricia Moynihan would not be behind the wheel of a 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet.

“We had a staff meeting prior to the concert,” explains Ridgefield Playhouse employee Christine O’Leary. Scanlon, who was at the meeting, listened very carefully when O’Leary told the staff to encourage concert attendees to purchase raffle tickets on this, the final night they would be sold.

And what better place to capture concert-goers than in the parking lot, before they walked in the Playhouse doors. That’s where Scanlon was, directing traffic.

When Moynihan pulled up to The Ridgefield Playhouse, Scanlon did as he was told and explained that the evening included a very special raffle drawing that would benefit the Playhouse “Arts for Everyone” program. He encouraged Moynihan to purchase a ticket.

“He was so persuasive,” Mercedes winner, Moynihan said with glee. Moynihan, who, prior to her arrival, had no idea that tickets were being sold, was happy to support the Ridgefield Playhouse “Arts for Everyone” program. “I purchased 4 tickets,” she said. Moynihan and 3 of her family members each wrote their name on one ticket. They headed up to the balcony to take their seats.

Just prior to The Wallflowers taking the stage, O’Leary and Mercedes-Benz of Danbury Marketing and Communications Manager, Danielle Troiano, stood before more than 400 attendees, thanking them for supporting the arts and purchasing tickets. O’Leary expressed gratitude to Mercedes-Benz of Danbury for once again, donating a year lease of a brand new Mercedes-Benz.

O’Leary reached into an over-sized martini glass and selected one raffle ticket. She called “Patricia Moynihan”. Suddenly, eyes were upon the balcony, where Moynihan was standing. While hundreds upon hundreds of tickets were sold all year long, the winning ticket was purchased just minutes before the raffle drawing.

“This is the first time the winner has been here when we’ve selected the ticket, this is really exciting,” said O’Leary.

All smiles, Moynihan made her way down from the balcony and greeted O’Leary and Troiano on stage.

Moynihan’s new ride is a gorgeous 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet, it boasts a V6 300+ horsepower engine, 4 seats and a soft top convertible. Moynihan will redeem the beauty at Mercedes-Benz of Danbury.
