Russell Craig Lowry, 73, of New Fairfield has died

Russell Craig Lowry, 73 of New Fairfield, peacefully passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 after a long battle with emphysema. Russell, son of the late James and Iris (Trimble) Lowry, was born on July 23, 1943 in the Hunts Point Section of the Bronx, NY. He moved to New Fairfield at the young age of 4, where he grew up in the house that his father built on Ansonia Road. After graduating from Danbury High School in 1962, Russell worked as a plumber for 40 years - 35 of these years in CT Local Union 777 Plumbers and Pipefitters.

Russell is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandra (Kruse) Lowry; 3 daughters, Robin Cathline and her husband, Brett, Deborah Tyer and Kelly Lowry; 4 grandchildren; Tabitha, Craig, Jimmy and Amy as well as 2 great grandsons and 2 great granddaughters. He is also survived by his brother, Donald Lowry, sister, Deborah Lowry and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, James Lowry Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church; 2 Colonial Road, New Fairfield. Interment will follow in Mountainview Cemetery, New Fairfield. Friends will be received at the church on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
