Richard J. Kilcourse

Richard J. Kilcourse, 83, of Danbury, husband of Ida (Alhage) Kilcourse, died on Saturday afternoon, April 29, 2017 at Regional Hospice Center for Comfort Care and Healing, Danbury.

Mr. Kilcourse was born in Danbury, February 11, 1934, a son of Thomas and Elsie (Baker) Kilcourse.  He attended Danbury Schools and graduated from Danbury High School with the Class of 1954. A lifelong resident of Danbury, Mr. Kilcourse was a manager of the former Grand Union Store at 226 White St., Danbury prior to be appointed to serve with the Danbury Police Department until his retirement.  He later became a starter at the Ridgefield Golf Course.

A baseball memorabilia enthusiast, he was an avid NY Yankee fan and a UCONN Women’s Basketball fan.

Mr. Kilcourse was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and of St. Edward the Confessor Church of New Fairfield.

In addition to hiw fie Ida of forty five years, Mr. Kilcourse is survived by a daughter, Tara Kilcourse of Brookfield; three sons, Brian Baldelli and his wife Sally of Raleigh, NC, Pastor Gary Baldelli and his wife Pastor Keri Baldelli of Danbury and Ralph Baldelli Jr. and his wife Christine of New Fairfield; seven grandchildren, Alicia, Colette, Brian, Matthew, Ralph III, William and Brooke; a sister in law Katherine (Mrs. William) Kilcourse of Lake Worth, FL and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Kilcourse was predeceased by a brother William.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 10 a.m. in St. Edward the Confessor Church, 21 Brush Hill Rd., New Fairfield.

Interment will take place in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
