Services planned for Cindy McDonough, 48, of New Fairfield

Cindy (Maher) McDonough, 48, of New Fairfield, wife of David A. McDonough, died on Friday morning, July 28, 2017 at Regional Hospice of Western CT Center for Comfort Care and Healing, Danbury.

Cindy was born in Danbury, November 1, 1968, a daughter of Mary (Gentles) Maher Ottoshavett of Danbury and the late Frederick J. Maher.

A lifelong area resident, Cindy attended local schools, New Fairfield High School and graduated from Teiyko-Post University of Waterbury, CT. She was a former administrative assistant with Ge Re (General Reinsurance) of Stamford, CT prior to her illness.

A former volunteer at the Consolidated and Meeting House schools, Cindy was a member of St. Edward the Confessor Parish of New Fairfield.

In addition to her husband and mother, Cindy is survived by two daughters, Alexis and Brianna of New Fairfield; a brother, Anthony Maher and his wife Renate and a sister Theresa Maher of Rocky Hill, CT as well as nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, Cindy was predeceased by four brothers, Frederick, James, Michael and Thomas.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank Adelayda, Regional Hospice and Palliative Care of Western CT and most especially their mother and grandmother who was the primary caregiver of Cindy for the past ten years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 10 a.m. in St. Edward the Confessor Church, 21 Brush Hill Rd., New Fairfield.

Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, New Fairfield.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Monday, July 31, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
