Have You Heard about the ReStore?

What do you do with that furniture you no longer need or want, or those cabinets you removed for your kitchen renovation? I’m sure that is a question we have all asked ourselves at one point or another.  Well, we have the solution for you:  Donate to the Housatonic Habitat ReStore located in Danbury.

The Habitat ReStore is a recycling and resale store selling donated furniture, lighting fixtures, and selected building materials at a fraction of the retail cost. As many of these items would end up in landfills, the ReStore is a sustainable solution for the environment and at the same time a valuable outlet for Habitat to generate revenue necessary to support home building efforts in the area.

At the ReStore in Danbury, we sell new or used furniture and materials for home improvements or renovations at prices that make furnishing, refinishing or repairing a home more affordable for families in our area.  We are also a resource for contractors in need of that one-off window or door as well as for those who enjoy projects and are in search of items to re-finish or re-purpose.

The next time you are replacing furniture in your home or renovating your kitchen or bath, or are just looking for a unique or vintage piece, give us a call.  For donations, we pick up items in the surrounding towns for a small fee.  Give us a call with questions regarding the items we accept and the process for pick up.  You can also drop off donations during business hours.

The Danbury Housatonic Habitat ReStore is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 9-3 and Thursdays from 10-5.  We are closed Sundays and Mondays. We are located at 51 Austin Street (corner of Austin Street and Shalvoys Lane) in Danbury.  You can reach us at 203.205.0952. For more information, you can check out the Housatonic Habitat for Humanity website and click on the ReStore link, www.housatonichabitat.org. You can also find us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/DanburyRestore or view a selection of our merchandise for sale on Craig’s list.
