New Fairfield Listed as 2nd Safest Town in Connecticut

How safe is New Fairfield, CT? VERY, based on the Connecticut Department of Public Safety, U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 5-year data, mapped by the Hartford Courant

Columbia, CT is the safest town in the state with a rate of 1.28 crimes per 1,000 people followed by our very own New Fairfield with a rate of 2.41 crimes per 1,000 people! New Haven, CT had the highest crime rate.

The survey data counts serious crimes in each town, as reported to the FBI. State police did not include the Sandy Hook shooting in Newtown's calculations. Crime data for all other towns is based on the most recent 2012 information.
