Update 9/25, 2:20 PM: DEEP has identified the victim as Christopher M. Brown, 60, of New Fairfield.
A tragic accident claimed the life of a 60-year old New Fairfield man today on Candlewood Lake. The victim was said to have been working on his 15-foot sailboat at Hollywyle Park on Candlewood Lake when he allegedly slipped and fell off the boat slip, causing him to drown. After a friend found his body in the lake, authorities were notified and he was pronounced dead around 3:00 PM today.
Connecticut State DEEP police are investigating the incident. His name is not being released pending notification of next of kin.
