The Town of New Fairfield is alerting residents of a potental scam that comes by way of a phone call.
The person claims to be from Eversource and says that you owe money for past due bills. They threaten that if not paid, your electricity will be shut off.
They then try to get you to pay by purchasing prepaid cards and will then forward you the PIN number. The call back phone number provided appears legit but it is NOT. THIS IS A SCAM!
