Police Identify Person of Interest in New Fairfield Untimely Death

On May 2, 2017 at approximately 9:30 a.m. Troopers from Troop A - Southbury and the New Fairfield Resident State Trooper's Office responded to 26 Candlewood Road in New Fairfield for a reported untimely death.

According the a police report, upon arrival, Troopers located a deceased 55 year old female. State Police Detectives from Western District Major Crime also responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.

During the course of the investigation, a person of interest was identified. On May 4, a patrol trooper and his K9 partner found the person of interest camping in the woods in the Town of Union. He has been identified as 32 year old Steven Flood who has no known current address, police say.

Police say the Flood was arrested without incident and being held on $100,000 bond. He is set to be arraigned tomorrow in Danbury.
