United Way of Western Connecticut and the Woman’s Club of Greater New Milford Invite the Community to Come Stuff the Gazebo
The two organizations are teaming up to collect enough food to provide a full Thanksgiving dinner to 300 New Milford area families in need.
NEW MILFORD, Conn. (October 29, 2014) — United Way of Western Connecticut (UWWC) is proud to partner with the Woman’s Club of Greater New Milford to help provide a full Thanksgiving dinner to 300 New Milford area families in need. They are calling on the community to help Stuff the Gazebo on the New Milford Green on Saturday, November 8, 2014 with non-perishable food items.

BACKGROUND: The Woman’s Club of Greater New Milford has worked on the Thanksgiving Baskets Program since its inception and over the past few years have been able to cover enough meals for 125 families. United Way of Western Connecticut is proud to partner again this year with the Woman’s Club of Greater New Milford to expand their efforts with the goal to cover enough Thanksgiving meals for 300 New Milford area families in need. The groups are excited to mobilize the greater New Milford community in helping to collect enough food for these 300 families.
The community is being asked to bring non-perishable food items for Thanksgiving dinners. The items requested include: boxed mashed potatoes, stuffing mix, pie crust mix and canned pie filling, canned yams, canned cranberry sauce, canned/jarred gravy, canned vegetables, and cream soups.
