They are on a mission from God – The Official Blues Brothers Revue returns to The Ridgefield Playhouse stage on November 12

On an historic night in August 1978, backed by one of the hardest, leanest, meanest bands ever assembled by man, Jake and Elwood Blues sauntered onstage at the Universal Amphitheater in LA and proceeded to blow the audience out of their seats with “Soul Man”, “Rubber Biscuit”, “Sweet Home Chicago”, “Rawhide”, “Peter Gunn”, “Gimme Some Lovin” and more! Over the years, many have taken the stage behind dark sunglasses, skinny ties, and black fedoras to pay homage to the legacy of Jake and Elwood, but only a select few belong amongst the official pantheon of Blues Brothers – genuine, bona fide members of the family, carriers of the flame. The Ridgefield Playhouse, Pepsi Rock Series Powered by Xfinity and Barts Tree Service Comedy Series bring THE OFFICIAL BLUES BROTHERS REVUE back to the Playhouse stage on Saturday, November 12 at 8pm. The duo is sanctioned by Dan Aykroyd and Judith Belushi to don the official hat and sunglasses and walk in the footsteps of the legendary Jake and Elwood Blues. Performers Wayne Catania and Kieron Lafferty capture the infectious humor and unbridled spirit of the Blues Brothers like no one since John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd walked the stage. Backed by a powerhouse band, they'll give you a show to remember, packed with classic hits from the Blues Brothers catalog. Before the show, visit Luna Rossa for dinner and enjoy a special 3-course pre-show menu! Media sponsor for this night of laughter, dancing, and foot-stompin’ fun is i95fm – the home of rock and roll!

Wayne Catania ("Joliet" Jake 2.0) is an established and respected musician, actor, and creative writer with a career spanning four decades. In the late 1970’s, Wayne’s resemblance to the late, great John Belushi opened the door to showcasing his own acting and musical talents onstage and onscreen. Joining ACTRA as a character actor, he was cast in numerous feature films, television shows, and international advertising campaigns. Wayne’s charismatic and animated physical style were instrumental in forming a persona that now complimented his achievements on the live music stage. All of this has culminated in the opportunity to be cast as Jake Blues in the Classic Blues Brothers Stage Show—a part that Wayne is very specifically qualified for and passionate about and which is, in reality, the pinnacle of his life’s work. Originally from Toronto, Canada, Kieron Lafferty (Elwood 2.0) was influenced by the great acts that played at his father’s nightclub, The Electric Circus. Legends like Sam & Dave, Credence Clearwater Revival, and The Doors were the wellspring of his youth. Following the footsteps of his mentors, he began a career as a musician, playing in the Toronto blues/rock circuit where he gained a solid reputation for his soulful vocals and melodic harmonica lines.
