Race, Community, Policing and You -- A Conversation to Make a Difference

Panel discussion at 11 am on Monday, Dec. 5, at WCSU featuring Chief Patrick Ridenhour of the Danbury Police, Chief Douglas Fuchs of the Redding Police, Chief Roger Connor of the WCSU Police, and Connecticut State Police Public Information Officer and Trooper 1st Class Kelly Grant, along with representatives of the WCSU student community.

This is offered by the university as a forum for discussion about how citizens and police can work together to protect the liberties and lives of both civilians and law enforcement officers. WCSU President Dr. John Clark has described the discussion as the first in a series of events that will engage students, faculty, staff and members of the general community in fostering understanding about the approach that police take toward their job and the experiences of students and other local residents who interact with law enforcement agencies. WCSU Chief Diversity Officer Daryle Dennis said that the panel is designed to initiate a continuing conversation that will lead to better understanding on all sides of the discussion.
