Reel Justice: Great Courtroom Dramas

New Milford Public Library is beginning a new, free film series on Wednesday, September 24 at 6:00 p.m. in Memorial Hall. Called “Reel Justice: Great Courtroom Dramas,” the series will feature ten of the best courtroom dramas from the 1950s through the 1980s. The first film to be shown will be The Caine Mutiny, the 1954 film based on Herman Wouk’s novel. Starring Humphrey Bogart, Fred MacMurray, Van Johnson, and Jose Ferrer, the movie was nominated for seven Oscars, including Best Actor (Bogart) and Picture. Each film program will include popcorn and drinks, as well as an introduction, written film notes and a post-screening discussion led by series curator and library director, Mark Hasskarl. For the complete list of movies and dates, visit the library’s website at www.newmilfordlibrary.org and click on Adult Programs. For more information, call the library at 860-355-1191 x 210.
