SAT Practice Test in February

The Southbury Juniorettes have teamed with Sylvan Learning Center of Southbury to offer a real world SAT practice test on Saturday, February 7 at 12:00 pm in the Sylvan Learning Center classroom located at 220 Main Street South, Suite 201 in Southbury.

The SAT practice test will be offered to area high school students for $35 per pupil with proceeds benefitting local Southbury organizations such as the Fuel Bank and Food Bank.

“Taking an SAT practice test is a terrific way to become familiar with the test format and understand the full scope of this evaluation,” said Peter Bartoli, Owner and Center Director. “It will also allow your teen to understand their areas of strength and weakness on the exam, thus, providing direction for proper preparation.”

Students will have access to their test scores within one week and have access to their online test results as well as on line tutoring at no cost for 30 days following receipt of the results. Online access will afford students the opportunity to view each question on the evaluation along with video instruction for every question asked.

Test participants are eligible for a 10% reduction in any SAT tutoring costs at Sylvan Learning Center of Southbury.

All enrolled students are expected to bring a graphing calculator and two number two pencils. The test will begin promptly at 12:00 pm and will end at approximately 4:00 pm. The exam will be proctored by the advisors of the Southbury Juniorettes.

“We are excited about teaming with the Southbury Juniorettes to raise funds for area charities all while helping students in the community have some extra practice for the SAT,” said Mr. Bartoli.

Registration is required by telephoning Juniorettes’ Co-Chairman, Christine Eaton at (203) 824-2591. Space is limited and will be reserved for the first 30 students to enroll and pay in full. Priority will be given to current high school juniors. Only cash or checks will be accepted.

The Southbury Juniorettes was founded in 2004 as a subcommittee of the Southbury Women’s Club, Inc. Juniorettes are a non-profit, community service organization for girls ages 9 to 18. To learn more, visit us on Facebook.
