The Friends of the Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard are proud to host the inaugural running of the Iron Horse 5K on September 24th 2016. This race is a unique opportunity to run a trail 5k on a course never before run by the public amongst the back drop of the scenic Fairfield Hills foliage this fall! With varying terrain including open fields, moderate hills, forest paths, and dirt roads any runner who is looking to do their first trail run and get off of the pavement will feel right at home next to trail running enthusiasts looking to tackle a brand new course. There will be plenty of opportunity to challenge yourself during this race as well as a chance to support a worth while and local cause.
The proceeds of registration fees will go directly to caring for the horses of 2GHG, providing them with everything they need to continue to serve, and honor all of the men and women who have served and continue to serve our great state and nation in the United States Armed Forces
