Cultural Alliance of Western CT partners with Ridgefield Playhouse in support of Emerging Artist Series

The Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut is partnering with The Ridgefield Playhouse in support of the Emerging Artist Series, a new series that is specifically designed to give up-and-coming musicians the opportunity to headline their own shows. "We're essentially offering musicians that significant transition from 'support act' for nationally known musicians to becoming headliners on their own," says Allison Stockel, Executive Director of the Ridgefield Playhouse. "The Ridgefield Playhouse is excited to partner with the Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut to introduce like-minded people to new musical acts that they may not have discovered on their own. It’s the arts community helping one another, while connecting with each other in a relaxed fun setting.”

Members of the Cultural Alliance will receive a discount on tickets and they are invited to meet the artist and network before each performance. “We are thrilled to partner with The Ridgefield Playhouse on the Emerging Artist Series," says Lisa Scails, Executive Director of the Cultural Alliance. “Our constant aim is to support artists of all disciplines. This partnership makes it possible to broaden our focus on the performing arts and its diversity of artists.”

This great after-work event is the perfect setting to meet-up with co-workers and friends, and to enjoy a night of music, nibbles, and drinks. The series kicks off next week with singer/songwriter Donavon Frankenreiter on Thursday, August 5 at 8:00pm, with a "Meet the Artist" gathering starting at 6:30pm. A former pro surfer from Kauai and protege of rock musician Jack Johnson, Frankenreiter’s freewheeling music gravitates toward instruments like slack key guitar, lap steel, and ukulele, whisking you away to the laid-back groove of the Hawaiian islands. He will be joined by special guest, Christopher Robin.

The Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut is supported by public and private funding, corporate sponsors, and by its 185 members including more than 55 arts, history, and cultural organizations.
