Relic Brewing & Zeeburgers Takeover May 26 at Good News Cafe

Start the Memorial Day Weekend early with some of the best burgers and best craft beer in Connecticut.

Good News Café is teaming up with Relic Brewing of Plainville, named the best small brewery in the state by Food and Wine magazine, for a fun evening Thursday, May 26, pairing Relic beers with a special menu of Carole Peck’s Zeeburgers.

Relic owner and brewer Mark Sigman will be on hand to introduce his beers, including the new Flaxen Foal IPA, a lovely, citrusy beer with a big, bold aroma. He’s also bringing Valencia Fletcher pale ale—bright, aromatic and infused with oranges—in a cask.

Carole Peck’s menu of burgers includes a “lean & mean” seven-ounce Antelope burger, an Asian tuna and salmon burger, a Zatar lamb & feta burger and a Juicy Lucy blue cheese-stuffed beef burger. There will also be a crispy Soft shell crab on a brioche bun, and for those with adventurous palates, the “hotter than hell” burger. Sides on the menu include house-made pickles & slaw, Yucca and sweet potato fries, and the “ethereal” onion bundle.

The cost is $20 for a Zeeburger and a Relic beer. No reservations are required; just stop by the restaurant starting at 6 p.m. Guests in a group may call the restaurant at 203-266-4663 to reserve a table in the Radio Room.
