There will be music, dance, poetry readings, comedy, juggling, crafts, sculptures and artist demonstrations and workshops at the 2nd Newtown Arts Festival on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 21 and 22. The festival will culminate a weeklong celebration of the arts, including the Rooster Ball set for Friday, September 20.
The festival will be on the grounds of Fairfield Hills in Newtown on trades Lane. Last year the Arts Festival attracted 5,000 visitors over the two days of the original event.

"I started working on the rooster the weekend after it happened," Carol Collins, winner of the 2013 Art Competition for the Newtown Arts festival, said, referring to the December 14 tragedy where a gunman killed 28 students and educators. "I did it to share love, make it more bearable."
