Deadline for Grant Application from Newtown Cultural Commission Has Been Extended
The Newtown Cultural Arts Commission has announced that it is extending the deadline for grant applications for Arts Organization in Newtown. The Grant application deadline is now September 8. 2017.The deadline for individual artists to apply has closed. The Commission will award up to $1000 to a Newtown Arts Organization. The application is available here.
The winner of the grant is invited to show or sell their art at the Cultural Arts Commission tent at the Arts Festival, this year set for September 16-17, 2017, on the grounds of Fairfield Hills.
Now in its sixth year, the award has gone to a photographer, an artistic printer, a filmmaker and a theater group, among others. The first year’s winner was Johnny Williams, a sculptural carpenter who went onto become a finalist in the Martha Stewart American Made Program.
