Acts 4 Ministry Thanks Community For Donations To Annual Back To School Swap and Shop Event

“Acts 4 Ministry, Inc. is so grateful to all the corporations, organizations and individuals who made our 13th annual Back-to-School ‘Swap and Shop’ event such an enormous success,” stated Acts 4 Ministry Executive Director Sarah Elizabeth Carabetta.

“Thanks to all the generous donations, our team provided more than 300 Waterbury area children with over 1,100 resources to start the new school year off with new uniforms, backpacks, notebooks and other school supplies.” Photographed were children from the Addo family in Waterbury who received all the necessities they needed to begin the new school year.

Each year during the month of August, the non-profit non-denominational Acts 4 Ministry hosts an exchange of school uniform tops and bottoms during their “Swap and Shop” events when school uniforms and supplies are provided free or at low costs to children throughout greater Waterbury region. Donations are collected throughout June and July that include monetary donations, new and gently-worn uniforms, backpacks, lunch bags, rulers, folders, writing tools and other supplies.

During the annual drive, Acts 4 Ministry, Inc. very gratefully accepted donations of $2,500 from William Tomasso of New Britain, and $1,500 from the Mustard Seed Fund of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church of Southbury.

People of varying income levels are served, appointments are necessary.
