S.H.O.P. presents ARTWALK and Concert Sept. 6

ARTWALK, the first village-wide event of its kind in Sandy Hook Village, will feature talented and inspirational artists from around the state sharing their visual works with visitors will begin September 6. Sponsored by S.H.O.P, this self-guided ARTWALK will launch on September 6th at 11:30 a.m. and run for four weeks. Pick up your ARTWALK map in Sandy Hook Village.

A concert by the Beatles Tribute Band, "A Ticket to Ride," will be perform from 1-3 pm September 6 at Village Green area behind the Village Perk Café on 3 Glen Road, Sandy Hook. This concert is being sponsored by WEBE 108 Radio and Toyota.

The event will kick-off the Newtown Cultural Arts Festival, a nine-day, multi-event town-wide festival celebrating and showcasing a wide variety of artistic talent. The Sandy Hook Organization for Prosperity (S.H.O.P) is sponsoring the event.

The theme, a literal translation of an Indian name given to the river that runs through Sandy Hook Village, is A Gathering of Waters. This aptly named event will showcase paintings, indoor sculptures, photography and mixed media in many of the wonderful local shops, restaurants and other businesses that are open to the public in Sandy Hook. Outdoor sculptures will also be featured throughout the village.

A walkable downtown business district, the ARTWALK will allow visitors to discover what wonderful shopping and dining the village has to offer.

Enhancing ARTWALK in Sandy Hook will be the September 6th Summer Concert featuring the Beatles Tribute Band, Ticket to Ride, Saturday on Sept 6th from 1-3pm at the stage in the Village Green area behind the Village Perk Café on 3 Glen Road.

The Newtown Arts Festival will feature a juried artist market, art exhibits, workshops & presentations, hands-on activities, and many live performances. You can learn more about the Newtown Arts Festival at www.newtownartsfestival.com.
