Newtown Kennel Club Hosts Fun Evening of

Police K-9 Demos, Horse Guard Drill Ride & Free Pizza!

Newtown, CT -The Newtown Kennel Club (NKC) welcomes animal lovers of all ages for a fun-filled family evening featuring police K-9 demos, a cavalry drill ride, kids' giveaways and free pizza. Meet members of the Newtown Police Department K-9 Unit, the Second Company Governor's Horse Guard (2GHG), and the NKC on Sept. 10 on the 2GHG's picturesque grounds at 4 Wildlife Drive, Newtown at the Fairfield Hills Campus.

The festivities begin at 6:45 p.m. with action-packed police K-9 demonstration with Newtown Police Department K-9 Officer Felicia Figol, K-9 Partner Saint Michael the German Shepherd Dog and Training Officer Matthew Hayes. The evening continues with the pageantry of cavalry horses in a precision drill ride performed by the 2GHG riders in the main riding ring. Pizza will be donated by Carminuccio's Pizza & Catering and refreshments provided by NKC. The event will be held rain or shine, with indoor accommodations in case of inclement weather. For the safety of all animals, please leave your pets at home.

Members of the Newtown Kennel Club will be on hand with fun giveaways, dog trivia and responsible dog ownership tips. NKC will be accepting donations in its continued support of K-9 officer Saint Michael, the first dog purchased as a result of local kennel club fundraising for the American Kennel Club's 'Adopt A K-9 Cop' program.

The Newtown Kennel Club, founded in 1947, has a long tradition of supporting canine causes and charities whose mission includes the health and welfare of all dogs in the community.
