Newtown's first outdoor movie night will be held Tuesday, August 9 from 7:30 to 10:30pm at the Fairfield Hills soccer field. The screening will feature Disney's recent release, Zootopia.
This collaborative effort between Newtown Parks & Recreation and the Newtown Prevention Council will be a family-friendly community event. The movie screening is scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m. Hip-hop artist and DJ Austin Dailey of Red Supreme Productions will facilitate an interactive dance party starting at 7:30 p.m. Austin's workshop focuses on encouraging exercise, promoting positive self-esteem and making healthy choices.
Admission to this event is free. Attendees should bring a blanket or chairs for seating. Concessions will be available. Pets and alcoholic beverages are not allowed.
In the event of inclement weather, the festivities will be postponed until Tuesday, August 16, 2016.
