Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971) Screened in Newtown on Sunday!

Don't miss this opportunity to see Gene Wilder in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971) at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 24th, at the Edmond Town Hall Theater, 45 Main Street, Newtown, CT.

The matinee will be shown with subtitles for the benefit of the hearing impaired.  Tickets are $3 to enjoy this film on the big screen in high definition.  Audiences are encouraged to dress in outfits inspired by the film for a chance to win a tasty prize for the Best Costume.

A fan of the Someday Cinema Series, Michele Grand of Green Crystal Massage in Sandy Hook was inspired to sponsor this film for a couple of reasons, “First, to say ‘thank you’ to the residents of our community, so many have walked through my door and each has been special in their own unique way.  Also, my family and I have so enjoyed many of the wonderful movies brought to town through this series.”

For this film, contributors Ken and Laura Lerman, Peter and Tracy van Buskirk, and The Sheep Shoppe yarn store, are also supporting this film, presented by the Newtown Cultural Arts Commission.

Save the dates for the rest of the series:
October 29 - Vertigo + High Anxiety
November 12 - Planes Trains and Automobiles
December 17 - It’s a Wonderful Life
