Race 4 Chase Kids Tri This Weekend!

Looking for something inspiring to do this weekend?

The Waterbury YMCA's Race4Chase Kid's Triathlon Program will culminate this weekend with the Traithlon at Camp Mataucha, 270 Smith Pond Road in Watertown on Saturday, August 2nd, 2014. This will be the concluding event for the Race4Chase Kids' Triathlon Program where 100 youth ages 6-12 will attempt to complete their first triathlon.

The participants will have taken part in a rigorous six week training program at one of the three Race4Chase Kids' Triathlon Program sites, namely, The Greater Waterbury YMCA, the Regional YMCA of Western CT (Danbury/Brookfield) and the Central CT Coast YMCA (Trumbull/Lakewood).

The competition is exclusive for those who have completed the training program and is not open to the community at large, although come and watch. And be inspired. There may still be volunteer opportunities for the event. Click here for the link to CMAK. Everyone is encouraged to be on hand to watch the excitement.

The Race4Chase Triathlon Program, formerly Achieve Kids Triathlon, is built on the foundation and principles of the ACHIEVE Kids Tri Camp since it began in 2009. The Achieve Waterbury was renamed and transitioned into the Race 4 Chase Youth Triathlon Program in 2014 in remembrance of the Chase Michael Anthony Kowalski and support from the CMAK Foundation.

The Race4Chase is part CMAK (Chase Michael Anthony Kowalski) Sandy Hook Memorial Foundation started by the family of Chase Kowalski, a victim of the Sandy Hook tragedy. His family wanted to capture Chase's competitive spirit and vitality in creating a charity in his honor with a focus on health and wellness for children and their families. CMAK has pursued programs and initiatives that encourage personal improvement, healthy lifestyles and strong family and communities.
