This weekend we wrote about the unusually brisk sales for All the Light We Cannot See, Anthony Doerr’s amazing new book. In this season when many religious faiths consider the renewal of metaphorical light in the world, it is an unusually apt gift, in its gently lyrical understanding of the things that connect us. We also noted that it was perhaps the only book in recent memory to be unavailable anywhere in the holiday season, a testament to the spreading word of mouth about the book. The book has officially joined the hula hoop on “hot” holiday gifts.
We are happy to report that with a few shopping days left it is once again available online at Powell’s books, among others, and in Barnes and Noble stores in the area. Thanks to those who wrote in with suggestions about finding a copy for my sister.
