Auditions for NewArts' summer shows to be held April 25, 26 and May 2

Auditions for NewArts'  2015 summer shows, "Liberty Smith" and "The Lion King Jr.," will be held April 25 and 26 and May 2 at Newtown High School, 12 Berkshire Road. Callbacks will be held May 3. NewArts is a division of the 12.14 Foundation.

Those auditioning for "Liberty Smith" (grades 6 through college) are asked to prepare a short one minute comic speech from a play, book or movie. Those auditioning for "The Lion King Jr." (grades 1-8) are asked to bring a short one minute reading of anything-- a book, play, nursery rhyme, etc. Younger children may instead tell a story, nursery rhyme, joke, etc. All auditioners must sing a one-minute cut of any song, preferably from musical theater.

Dancers are also welcome to audition for "Liberty Smith."

There are also volunteer opportunities in the orchestra, on the production crew and assisting throughout the rehearsal process and performances.
