The Discovery Center at Ridgefield is hosting a Guided Bird Walk program on May 9

Spring Bird Watching in Ridgefield

The Discovery Center at Ridgefield is hosting a Guided Bird Walk program for all ages on Saturday, May 9th at 8:00 A.M. on the grounds of Weir Farm National Historic Site, in Wilton.  The Discovery Center birding programs take place each month at various locations and habitats throughout Ridgefield. The Discovery Center is pleased to partner with National Park Service to offer this unique program!

An early morning walk on a bright morning is the perfect way to celebrate the warming days of Spring!  Join Discovery Center volunteer birder, Noah Sferra, on a morning stroll in search of birds through the meadows and woodland habitats of this beautiful property.  Mr. Sferra will share a wealth of information on our native birds and their ecology and conservation.  Each participant will be given a Birds of Ridgefield check-list to keep.  The program will continue with a field walk in this varied habitat area of Ridgefield.  The birding program participants have been seeing at least twelve different songbirds on recent outings.

Participants should dress for the outdoors.  Warm clothes and mud boots are advised. Binoculars will be available for participants to borrow.

All ages are welcome.  This program is free of charge. Please call 203.438.1063 or visit the DC website www.ridgefielddiscovery.org to make reservations.
