CT State Police Release Memorial Day Weekend Stats

CONNECTICUT STATE POLICE MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND ENFORCEMENT

Troopers patrolled the highways and roads in Connecticut over this 2015 Memorial Day weekend.  During this enforcement operation troopers utilized both traditional and non-traditional patrol cars.  The enforcement project started at 12:01 a.m. on 5/22/15 and will run through 11:59 p.m. on 5/25/15. 

Troopers focused on drunken driving violations, aggressive drivers, distracted drivers and speeding.

Sobriety checkpoints and targeted DUI patrols were in place over the entire weekend.

These State Police stats cover the time period starting at midnight on 05/22/15 through 05/24/2015 at 7am.

  • SPEEDING:  679
  • SEATBELT:  811
  • OTHER HAZARDOUS MOVING VIOLATIONS: 202 (to include unsafe lane change, Following Too Closely, Cell Phone, Texting, etc.) 
  • DUI ARRESTS:   17 

ACCIDENTS

  • Investigated:  96   
  • With injury:    13   
  • Fatal:              1
