Danbury mayor proclaims July 26-27 'Beatles Weekend'

DANBURY, CONN. — In celebration of the 50th anniversary of The Beatles' arrival in America, a Beatles-themed music festival, "Danbury Fields Forever," will be on Saturday and Sunday, July 26 and 27, at Ives Concert Park on the Western Connecticut State University Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. Danbury Mayor Mark D. Boughton will be at the festival at 2 p.m. on Saturday to issue a proclamation stating that it is "Beatles Weekend" in the Hat City.

The family-friendly music, food and arts festival is in its third year and will feature 10 bands each day playing the music of The Beatles, solo material and songs from the '60s. In addition to the 20 live musical acts, there will be Beatles memorabilia dealers and vendors, exhibitors and a food court. Doors will open at noon and the music will continue until 8 p.m. daily.
