Creative Writer's Workshop

Bring plenty of pencils and pens and lots of paper, and join us for “In the Beginning:  The Word,” a day filled with exercises in creative writing.  No matter what genre of writing you already work in or are interested in exploring—fiction, creative nonfiction & memoir, poetry or playwriting—and no matter whether you are an amateur, a professional, a semi-professional writer, or someone interested in giving creative writing a try, this is a class created with you in mind. The class is presented by Vinton McCabe, a published novelist, produced playwright and award winning poet.

Writers will work as a group, as individuals, in pairs and in teams throughout this fast-paced day of puzzles, problems and exercises—all geared to sparking and enhancing the creative process.  Attendees will create a finished, polished piece in the genre of their choice by the end of the day to start them off on their creative journey.

“In the Beginning:  The Word” is open at no cost to all members of the Woodbury Writer’s Workshop and to the general public, although seating is limited.  To reserve your space today, contact the Woodbury Public Library at (203) 263-3502.  Please bring lunch!
