Barbara Branagan-Mitchell, owner of Branagan Communications Consultants LLC (BCC) in New Milford, a public relations, publicity placement, marketing/marketing communications and writing/editing consulting agency, is celebrating 22 years of success as a sole proprietor entrepreneur in 2015.

Branagan Communications Consultants has been serving the publicity and marketing needs of small to medium sized businesses throughout the Greater Waterbury and southern Litchfield County region since 2004. The PR/marketing consulting agency offers services in public relations; publicity placement; marketing and marketing communications; writing and editing of websites, branding materials, newsletters, brochures, presentations and more.

Branagan-Mitchell has worked in the public relations, marketing communications field for over 35 years. She began her career in Manhattan working in large international public relations agencies and servicing the public relations needs of such corporations as Pepsi Cola, JCPenney Stores, Cruise Lines International Association, Jack Daniels, Colorado Ski Country USA, Iberia Airlines of Spain, Rand McNally Travel Guides, Levi Strauss, Korbel Champagne, Bausch & Lomb, Hush Puppies Shoes, The Gillette Company, and Cointreau Liqueur of France.

In 1993, Branagan-Mitchell launched her consulting firm in Katonah, New York after serving as the public relations manager for the Heritage Hills condominium community in Somers, New York. She was a highly-accomplished business owner in the Westchester County community having excelled as chairperson of the Advertising Club of Westchester chairperson of their annual Big “W” Awards, and serving on that organization’s board of directors from 1996 to 2000.

In 2004, Branagan-Mitchell moved her home and business from Katonah, New York to New Milford, Connecticut. During the past ten years, she has launched highly-successful publicity placement and marketing campaigns for numerous companies and organizations throughout New Haven, Litchfield and Fairfield Counties. An active member of the Waterbury Regional Chamber since 2008, Branagan-Mitchell was presented with the Chamber’s highly-prestigious Volunteer of the Year Award in 2010. She has volunteered as a Chamber Ambassador since 2009, and in 2010 she graduated as a team leader from the Chamber’s informative Leadership Greater Waterbury program.

In addition to her volunteer service to the Waterbury Regional Chamber, Branagan-Mitchell currently volunteers as the communications officer for the ProfNet of Waterbury, Inc. business networking organization, and as vice chair of the Audubon Center at Bent of the River in Southbury, both since 2013. During the past 10 years, Branagan-Mitchell has also been an active member of the Southbury Business Association, the Woodbury Business Association, and the Greater Tribury Chamber of Commerce.
