The Land Trust of Danbury to Congratulate Dr. Helena Nitowski For Her Outstanding Service

DR. HELENA NITOWSKI OF WESTERN CONNECTICUT ACADEMY OF INTERNATIONAL STUDIES

RECEIVES DANBURY LAND TRUST’S OUTSTANDING SERVICE AWARD FOR 2015

Danbury, Conn. -- (August 18th, 2015)—The Land Trust of Danbury today announced that Dr. Helena Nitowski will receive its Outstanding Service Award for 2015. The award is given to an individual who lives or works in the Danbury area and demonstrates outstanding commitment to the protection of our environment while setting an example of innovation and leadership in conservation.

Dr. Nitowski will be receiving the award at the Land Trust of Danbury’s annual Gala “Wine at Sunset”, on August 23rd, 2015. The wine-tasting event includes hors d’oeuvres and wine, courtesy of Max Wine & Spirits and an exclusive small plate menu prepared for the occasion. The Land Trust will also be hosting a Silent and Live Auction with an exciting array of items and special trips to bid on, including an African Safari. The gala will take place at The Red Barn at Tarrywile, 70 Southern, Blvd, Danbury, at five o’clock in the evening. As a school principal in Danbury for 13 years and as the leader of the West Connecticut Academy of International Studies (AIS) since its founding in 2006 Dr. Nitowski meets all the requirements for receipt of this prestigious award. Last year AIS received the Connecticut Association of Schools Outstanding Elementary School of the Year award.

Commenting on Dr. Nitowski’s Award, Land Trust of Danbury president Michael Marcus said:
