Branagan-Mitchell of Branagan Communications Named Interim Chairperson Audubon Center in Southbury

The Board of Directors of the Audubon Center at Bent of the River in Southbury recently unanimously approved Barbara Branagan-Mitchell, owner of Branagan Communications Consultants LLC (BCC), a public relations, publicity placement, marketing communications and writing/editing consulting service firm in New Milford, to serve as a volunteer interim chairperson for one year.

In 2013, Branagan-Mitchell volunteered to serve as the Board Vice Chairperson having been a member of the Audubon Board since 2011. As a Board Member, Branagan-Mitchell has also continually served as volunteer publicist for the Audubon Center and their numerous year-round fundraisers including their fall BENT FEST family music festival. Currently, Branagan-Mitchell is also a volunteer publicist for Friends of Harrybrooke Park in New Milford, and volunteer publicist and communications officer for the ProfNet Networking Group of Waterbury.

In 2015, BCC is celebrating 22 years of success as a sole proprietorship. In addition to her positions with the Audubon Center, she has volunteered as an Ambassador with the non-profit Waterbury Regional Chamber for six years, and has been retained as the Chamber’s publicist for five years. In 2010, she received the Chamber’s prestigious Volunteer of the Year Award and graduated their Leadership Greater Waterbury program. At this time, Branagan-Mitchell is also a member of the Chamber’s Public Policy Committee, and retained publicist for the non-profit Waterbury Development Corporation, non-profit Acts 4 Ministry, Inc. in Waterbury, Americana Furniture in Waterford, and Wesson Energy in Waterbury.
