Come spend an afternoon on Sunday, June 29 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Flanders with herbalist Jennifer Grant. Jennifer will briefly discuss the history of herbalism and then proceed on to a discussion of our local edible and medicinal "weeds". Further, Jennifer will discuss the various constituents and actions for each plant, and which plants to avoid. Discussion will be followed by a plant identification walk and discussion about harvesting plants in a responsible manner. The afternoon will conclude with a discussion of the nutritional value of many of these plants, and tea blending for basic health and nutrition. With a little guidance prepare your own tea blend to enjoy at home.The presentation will take place at Flander's Sugar House, located 1/4 mile up Church Hill Road in Woodbury. Non-members pay $5, while members are free. Registration is required.
