"Painting Churches" to be performed Nov. 2 at C.H. Booth Library

"Painting Churches," a play by Tina Howe, will be performed Sunday, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. in the Meeting Room of C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main St., Newtown.

Gardner and Fanny Church are preparing to move out of their Beacon Hill House to their summer cottage on the Cape. Gardner, once a famous poet, is now retired. He slips in and out of senility as Fanny valiantly tries to keep them both afloat. Their daughter Mags has agreed to come home and help them move, because she hopes to paint their portrait as well. She is now on the verge of artistic celebrity herself and hopes by painting her parents to come to terms with them and they with her.

The play is presented by  M&M.
