Things To Do at EverWonder Children's Museum This Summer

Newtown, Conn. - EverWonder Children's Museum is pleased to announce its calendar for July and August 2015. The museum has events for the entire family. The event calendar is subject to change without notice. Please check EverWonderMuseum.org or Facebook for calendar changes and announcements. EverWonder is open Tuesday - Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Admission is $7 per person plus tax, and children under the age of 1 years old are free. Museum members are also admitted free. Parking at the museum is free.

July

Tuesday, June 30 to Sunday, Aug 9:  Flying Fish and Optical Illusion Art in Art Labs Free with Admission! Come learn about the concept of aerodynamics through making flying fish in the Yellow Art Lab and learn about the science behind optical illusions through making different optical illusion pictures in the Blue Art Lab.

Friday, July 3, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Ranger Nate
Calling all scientists! On Friday, July 3, Ranger Nate will be in the house. Come visit and explore different animal furs.

Wednesday, July 8, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Winter in July Calling all snow birds! Winter in July? Yes, we’re playing with snow in the middle of summer! Come learn about the different seasons and weather patterns while making snow in the EverWonder classroom.

Wednesday, July 15, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Smile Spot
On Wednesday, July 15, EverWonder will be hosting Dr. Stephen Kest of the Smile Spot Children's Dentistry. Dr. Stephen will have fun activities for the kids to learn about taking good care of their teeth and gums.

Friday, July 17, 2015 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Ranger Nate
Calling all scientists! On Friday, July 17, Ranger Nate will be in the house. Come visit and explore different animal furs.

Sunday, July 19, 2015 Noon to 5 p.m. Smell Lab
How keen is your sense of smell? Come test out your nostrils and see what scents you can identify with EverWonder's Smell Lab.

Thursday, July 23, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Balloon Races
Zoom! Zoom! Zoom! Come make a balloon rocket and see how fast it can go.

Tuesday, July 28, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Golf Ball Art
Calling all artists! Come create your own custom print with golf balls and paint.

Friday, July 31, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Ranger Nate

Friday, August 7, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. National Lighthouse Day
Come celebrate National Lighthouse Day at EverWonder!

Calling all scientists and artists! Come check out EverWonder's new Art Lab activities.

From Tuesday, August 11th to Sunday, September 20th, Lighthouse Sun Catchers will be running in the Yellow Art Lab and Exploring the Earth's Layers with Playdough will be running in the Blue Art Lab.

Thursday, August 20, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Craft Stick Catapults
Challenge yourself to use elements of math, science and engineering to build a mini-catapult. Experiment with making a catapult by using craft sticks, rubber bands and everyday materials.

### Formed in January 2011 by a group of parents, EverWonder Children’s Museum (incorporated as Newtown Children’s Museum, Inc.) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring children and families in Northern Fairfield County through the use of hands-on museum exhibits and demonstrations. Museums hours are Tuesday – Saturday 10 am -5 pm and Sunday 12 pm – 5 pm. Regular admission is $7 for visitors over 1 year of age. Memberships are available for purchase.
