All School Open House at Wooster School on October 24

Open House at Wooster School on Saturday, October 24 at 9:00 am

As a part of our recent College Admissions Series, I had the opportunity to discuss the college experience and Wooster students, with a number of college admissions directors. It did not surprise me to hear that colleges were beginning to spend more time thinking about relationships as being key to the success of students on their campuses. Driven by emerging research, they are finding that developing and maintaining quality relationships with several fellow students and a small number of professors is fundamental to success in college.

This makes sense to us because at Wooster School, our learning environment has been structured this way for years. Our students have to be involved in multiple activities and engaged with each other every day in their learning. We structure our programs to create as many opportunities as possible for connection, particularly between students and teachers. We ensure that these connections are designed to build skills and produce deeper learning. The result is not only students who are thoughtful and skilled, but also emotionally confident. They are ready for success in college and for life. If your children are not developing strong relationships at school, relationships that make them excited about learning and about new experiences, I would invite you to come and see what we are doing at Wooster School.

Join us for an Open House on Saturday, October 24 at 9:00 am.
