February Activities at EverWonder Children's Museum Newtown, Connecticut
EverWonder Children’s Museum is pleased to announce its calendar for February 2016. The museum has events for the entire family. The event calendar is subject to change without notice.
EverWonder is open Tuesday - Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and Sunday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Admission is $7.44 per person (including tax), and children under the age of 1 years old are free. Museum members are free. Parking at the museum is free.
Story Lab for Young Explorers meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 am to 11:00 am. This 30 minute program of STEM themed stories, activities, and crafts takes place in the EverWonder classroom. Parents must stay with their children during the program. Program is free with museum admission.
Story Lab will meet on Tuesday, February 2nd, Thursday, February 4th, Tuesday, February 9th, Thursday, February 11th, Tuesday, February 16th, Thursday, February 18th, Tuesday, February 23rd, and Thursday, February 25th.
Special Activities Friday, February 5, 2016 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Art Lab: Bubble Painting Calling all artists! We are always on the lookout for new and creative ways to paint at EverWonder.
Join us on Friday, February 5th for Bubble Painting! Our young artists and scientists will learn about color mixing and water properties while blowing bubbles to create their next masterpiece. Friday, February 5, 2016 10:00 am to 2:00 pm Ranger Nate Calling all scientists! On Friday, February 5th, Ranger Nate will be in the house. Come visit and explore different animal furs with our favorite animal expert.
Wednesday, February 10, 2016 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Science Lab: Conversation Candy Heart Activity Calling all candy fans! What do you think will happen when you place conversation candy hearts into soda? Make your predictions now and come take part in our Conversation Candy Heart lab on Wednesday, February 10th.
Monday, February 15, 2016 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Presidents’ Day at EverWonder School's out? Looking for something to do on Presidents' Day? EverWonder Children's Museum will be open on Monday, February 15th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. On Presidents' Day, we will be featuring the following activities:
2) Are you Taller than Abe Lincoln?? - Come see if you are taller than Abe Lincoln! Our young explorer's are going to measure their height and compare their height to Lincoln's height!
3) Patriotic Pinwheels- Come create and decorate your very own red, white and blue pinwheel.
Tuesday, February 16, 2016 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Presidential Mash-Up Schools out? Looking for something to do with your kids? On February 16th, come learn about the presidents! We will provide a mash up of distinct features of different presidents and it is up to you to put the presidents back together again.
Friday, February 19, 2016 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Art Lab: Glitter Tooth Painting Come celebrate National Children's Dental Health Month at EverWonder! On Friday, February 19th, we will be learning about the importance of brushing teeth while creating beautiful works of art with Glitter Tooth paintings Friday, February 19, 2016 10:00 am to 2:00 pm Ranger Nate Calling all scientists!

On Wednesday, February 24th, we are making mini-tornadoes! Don't worry, the tornadoes will be contained in plastic water bottles. Our young scientists will learn about vortexes, centripetal force, and weather patterns through this hands-on activity.
Museums hours are Tuesday – Saturday 10 am -5 pm and Sunday 11 am – 5 pm. The museum is located at 31 Pecks Lane Newtown, CT 06470. Regular admission is $7.44 for visitors over 1 year of age. Memberships and gift certificates are available for purchase.
