Tuesday, February 8, 2016 to Sunday, April 17, 2016 Art Lab: Butterfly Symmetry and Ladybug Dots

Starting on Tuesday, March 8th, come check out our new spring inspired Art Lab projects, Butterfly Symmetry and Ladybug Dots.

Are butterflies symmetrical? If you can reflect an image over a line and the image remains unchanged, then it has a line of symmetry. Line of symmetry divides one image into two exact matching halves. In Butterfly Symmetry, our young scientists will learn about lines of symmetry through decorating butterfly wings.

In Ladybug Dots, our young scientists will work on their addition skills by placing dots on two distinct halves of a ladybug. After decorating the two halves of the ladybug, the young scientists will count how many dots are on each side of the ladybug and add them together to figure out how many total dots are on the ladybug.

Wednesday, March 9, 2016 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Science Lab: Butterfly Life Cycles Calling all scientists!

Come learn about life cycles at EverWonder. We will be studying the four different stages of a butterfly's life through using different shaped pasta to symbolize the progression of the butterfly's development.

Thursday, March 17, 2016 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Art Lab: Scrunchy Shamrocks

Calling all leprechauns! Lá fhéile Pádraig sona dhuit! On Thursday, March 17th, we will be celebrating St. Patrick's Day at EverWonder Children's Museum. Come learn about different Irish and American customs, and make tissue paper shamrocks. Our young explorers will use their motor skills to crunch green tissue paper ribbons into little balls to glue onto a shamrock template.

Friday, March 25, 2016 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Science Lab: Jelly Bean Experiment

Come learn about scientific procedures on Friday, March 25th. What do you think happens when you place jelly beans into water? On Friday, March 25th, we will be using our favorite springtime candy, jelly beans, to practice our prediction and observation skills while learning about water absorption, leaching, and color change.
