Wooster School Welcomes Renowned Author Todd Brewster to Campus

Wooster School is excited to announce guest speaker, Todd Brewster, an American author, journalist, and film producer, will be presenting at Wooster on Monday, February 13, 2017.

During the school day, our Upper School Humanities and American History classes will have the opportunity to engage with Todd Brewster, who will be sharing his story as a writer, historian and learner. He will focus on Lincoln’s Gamble and The Century, which he co-authored with Peter Jennings of ABC News.

In the evening, Todd will be joining the Wooster Community for a meet the author discussion event. He will be sharing his story beginning at 7:00 pm in the Reception Center, and then the evening will open up into a Q & A opportunity for the audience. Todd Brewster is a veteran journalist and popular historian who has worked in television, print, and digital media. He is best known for his work with the late Peter Jennings, of ABC. From the early 1990s to the early 2000s, Brewster was Senior Producer of ABC News, where he worked on long form documentaries and co-authored two best-selling books with Jennings: The Century and In Search of America. Before that, Brewster was a writer and editor at Time, Inc. where he reported on national politics and, in the early 1990s, on the collapse of communism in Eastern Europe. He has been a member of the history faculty at West Point and has taught First Amendment law at Wesleyan University. He has served as Knight Fellow at Yale Law School and he has contributed to Time, Vanity Fair, and The New York Times. Most recently, Brewster is the author of Lincoln’s Gamble: the Tumultuous Six Months That Gave America the Emancipation Proclamation and Changed the Course of the Civil War (Scribner). He is now serving as a Distinguished Visiting Professor at Temple University in Philadelphia.  Follow him on Twitter @ToddBrewster.
