NEWTOWN, CT (January 28, 2018) -- Come explore the halls, classrooms and state–of-the art science lab at St. Rose of Lima School on Sunday, January 28, 2018, 12:30-2:30 p.m. Meet the dynamic teachers, parents and students who energize learning and foster family. Talk with Principal, Sister Colleen Smith, to learn about the many advantages of a Catholic education and the proven social, emotional and educational benefits of a K-8 environment. St. Rose of Lima School also offers dynamic Pre-K 3, 4 year-old and Step Up to Kindergarten programs. A state of the art science lab, as well as an outdoor learning center equipped with a butterfly garden and solar panel station – the first of it’s kind in the United States -- offer all school students hands-on experience with a variety of innovative programs including STEM.
“We are a faith centered community committed to academic excellence in an atmosphere that nurtures the spiritual, intellectual, physical and moral development of each student,” says Sister Colleen Smith, ASCJ, Principal. “This year marks the 60th anniversary of St. Rose of Lima School. Our accomplished alumni offer strong testimonies to the lasting impact their time here has made in their lives. Take the college student who has started a nonprofit organization fostering literacy in third world countries and another who spends summers with orphans in China; a recent college graduate who was signed to a major league baseball team, three former students and Mock Trial participants who are attending law school, doctors, nurses, accountants, community leaders – all harken back to St. Rose of Lima School where the seeds of service, academic excellence, leadership and hard work were planted.”
