The referendum for Newtown's town and education budgets will be Tuesday, April 28 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Newtown Middle School, 11 Queen St. The proposed 2015-16 budgets represent a 0.71% decrease to taxpayers. If the budget is approved, the new tax rate would be 33.07 mills.
